ROOF REPAIR

Roof Repair in Central Texas

A leak or a few missing shingles doesn’t always mean you need a new roof. Tex-Mex Roofing finds the cause, fixes it, and tells you honestly whether the rest of the roof is in good shape.

Common roof repairs we handle

Most leaks start at a few familiar spots. We repair:

  • Missing, torn, or lifted shingles after wind or hail.
  • Cracked or worn pipe boots around plumbing vents.
  • Loose or rusted flashing at chimneys, walls, and skylights.
  • Leaking valleys where two slopes meet.
  • Damaged decking under soft or sagging spots.

Finding the real cause of a leak

Water travels. A stain over the kitchen can start several feet away near a vent or a chimney. We trace the leak back to its source instead of patching the spot where it shows up, so the repair holds.

If the leak is the flashing and not the brick, we say that. If a few slopes can be fixed, we say so. If the roof is done, we say that too.

What Texas weather does to a roof

Central Texas roofs take a beating from both directions. Spring storms can bring hail that bruises shingles and knocks loose the granules that protect them from the sun. Strong wind can lift shingle edges and break the seal that holds them flat. Then long, hot summers dry the roof out, so shingles get brittle and crack more easily the next time a storm rolls through.

Small problems grow. A lifted shingle lets wind get underneath. A cracked pipe boot lets a little water in with every rain until the decking softens. Fixing these spots early is the cheapest way to keep a roof going, which is why we recommend a look after any big hail or wind storm.

Repairs for homeowners and landlords

We repair roofs on houses people live in and on rental properties. If you own a rental in Austin, San Antonio, or Temple, a quick inspection between tenants can catch leaks before they turn into ceiling and drywall damage. We also repair gutters, siding, and chimney flashing, so one visit can cover the whole outside of the house.

When repair isn’t enough

If damage is spread across the whole roof, or the shingles are brittle and losing granules everywhere, more patches only buy a little time. In that case we explain why a roof replacement may be the better use of your money, and you decide.

FAQ

Questions.

Do you repair roofs, or only replace them?

Both. If a few slopes or a flashing can be fixed, we say so. If the roof is done, we say that too. You get the honest answer, not a sales pitch.

Is the roof inspection free?

Yes. We come to the house, look at the roof, and give you an honest answer on what it needs. No charge for the visit. Se habla español.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. Licensed and insured for residential and commercial work. We can show proof before we start. Certificate of insurance available on request.

Do you help with hail damage and insurance?

Yes. We inspect storm and hail damage, document what we find with photos, and can meet your adjuster at the house. We don’t file or negotiate your claim, and nobody can promise what insurance will pay. Repair or replace, depending on what the roof needs.
